You WILL need Healing items in late battles, especially the final one, so keep this in mind. They must then be re-stocked at a general items shop. The only way to regain HP is from buying Healing tools, which can be used in, or out of battle.
With the game your Health will remain diminished, unless you transition to a new character. With each Ultimate Decision choice levelling up, the level and effect of the items increases as well. Hero is governed, primarily, with healing and defensive ninja tools for combat, while Legend is governed, primarily, with damaging and offensive ninja tools. When choosing Hero or Legend you'll rank up XP points. Other than the difficulty setting it presents there's also a ranking system to it. IMPORTANT: During certain Boss Battles and select missions you'll be given the choice of Hero or Legend. Hero is always the "easier" route to take the difficulty stars will confirm this. You can always replay battles on other difficulties afterwards, this is just for achievement sake. If you want to earn the select battle rank achievements, the easiest way to do so would be to choose the lesser difficulty rating when selecting from the Ultimate Decision of Hero or Legend. If you decide to not skip any cut-scenes there is a combined total of 50 hours worth of both game-play and cinematic story-telling.
For the game's completion time it truly depends on if you're going to go through the cinematic experience of the story and tale of Naruto, or just fast forwarding.
